Listeners of the show often joke about how Matt and I give five-star reviews to everything, or think every comic we read is great. As we’ve mentioned before, for the most part we try to talk about books we like on the show, only bringing in books, movies, games or shows we didn’t like when they are big releases that people are expecting to hear about. But, there’s also a part of both Matt and I that does love everything--we love loving things.
During a break when we were recording the other day, Matt and I were talking about how bad the Jonah Hex movie was, but that even in that movie there were things that we loved. As we talked, an idea started to form in my head--there is always something awesome about even the worst comics, games, movies and shows. We talked a little more, and decided we’re going to start a new segment on the show. It’s called “Everything is Awesome.”
In the “Everything is Awesome” segments, we’ll take a comic, show, movie or game that is generally considered to be anywhere from mediocre to terrible, and we’ll tell you why it’s actually great. Who knows? Perhaps we’ll even change your mind about something you thought you hated.
We want the topics to come mostly from you for this segment. So, start sending us emails, or posting on the site about your least favorite comics, games, movies shows, characters or whatever, and let us tell you why they’re so much better than you think they are.
