Back in the early '00's, writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale were the 'all star team' of comics.
First teaming up in 1991 on DC's CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN, the duo then hit it big with BATMAN - THE LONG HALLOWEEN and even bigger BATMAN - DARK VICTORY. They produced the highly underrated CATWOMAN - WHEN IN ROME and the 'year one' epic SUPERMAN - FOR ALL SEASONS.
Moving their talents to Marvel, the team produced three mini series in the style of FOR ALL SEASONS, featuring marvel iconic characters and featuring a one word, color title... SPIDER-MAN - BLUE, DAREDEVIL - YELLOW and HULK - GREY! All three are brilliant must read stories that brought the characters not only to their beginnings but their stripped down humble beginnings. But the best was yet to come, CAPTAIN AMERICA: WHITE. In October of 2008 a zero issue hit the stands...got us fired up...and then nothing......
... until now. Seven years later, CAPTAIN AMERICA - WHITE # 1 his the shelves and despite being a looooonnnngggggg time between issues, it was so worth the wait. With the current Marvel Universe in a state of flux/change/reboot it is great to see the greatest superhero back and the way he should be... fighting during the cold days of World War Two.
Sure the world has changed quite a bit since 2008, but great storytelling hasn't!
