For those that don’t know, Movember is a month-long campaign where guys all around the world will be growing a mustache this month to raise awareness of men’s health issues. The website www.movember.com partners with the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the LIVESTRONG Foundation to raise money to educate people about men’s health issues and help those affected by them.
Since our webcomic Mo Stache (www.mostachecomic.com) is nothing if not a celebration of facial hair, and this month-long campaign shares a name with our leading moustache, John and I want to get involved with the Movember charitable effort. Sadly, I already own one of the best moustaches in America, so I won’t be able to start from scratch this month.
What I can do, however, is make a donation to the Movember effort, and I’d like to do that in the name of one of you.
So here’s the challenge--grow an awesome mustache this month. Take a picture of it, and send it to me at www.sipodcast@comcast.net by Sunday, November 25th. John and I will sort through the entries, and choose a winner. Then, I will make a $20 donation to either the Movember Foundation, the Prostate Cancer Foundation or the LIVESTRONG Foundation (whichever you choose) in the name of the winner. In the subject line of the email, put “Movember Mustache Challenge,” attach your mustache pic, and let me know in the body of the email which charity you want me to donate to.
All of the entry pics will be placed in the “Stache Hall of Fame” on www.mostachecomic.com. I may even con John into creating some original art that we can give away to a random participant as well.
So, celebrate Movember with us! Grow a mustache, read Mo Stache, and raise awareness for men’s health!
