Celebrate The Martain Invasion With IDW

For Matman, his obsession for ‘Mars Attacks’ happened when he was very young and almost by accident!

“When I was about 7 or 8, I bought a shoebox full of cards at a tag sale,” remembers Matman. “The box was a mix of all sports and a few weird ones. Three of them were Mars Attacks cards and they totally freaked me out. The ones I remember were ‘A Soldier Fights Back’ and the other was ‘Destroying A Dog’. I wasn’t so much a fan of that one.”

It’s been a few years since the ‘Mars Attacks’ film and the Topps Comics series, but get ready! IDW is leading the charge in brining back ‘Mars Attacks’ in a big way!

First up is an all new series from awesome writer John (the mighty) Layman and artist John McCrea. The Martians are coming with 55 different covers, each one depicting a card from the original series.

If you missed out on the Topps series, IDW has collected it in ‘Mars Attacks Classics, Volume 1.

But the coolest thing IDW is offering is a box set featuring all 56 covers (including the John McCray variant) in an incredible box set! Now you don’t have to chase covers all over the place.

I'm a probably get a box of these. And a friend of mine, Ashleigh Popplewell, has done a bunch of sketch cards for this too.

FYI, the comic is by one of my favorite artists, JOHN McCREA not "Tom McCrey" John McCrea co-created the DC hero "Hitman" with Garth Ennis and has been drawing some books on and off like "Dicks" and "The Boys" both with Garth Ennis.

In fact, Mars Attacks will be his first ongoing series since Hitman ended in 2001, so i'm pretty excited.
