Who is the new Thor?
Everyone has their theory about the identity of she who wields Mjolnir. Suggestions so far have included Lady Sif, Angela, Jane Foster, Rosalind Solomon, the Enchantress and more.
I’ve thought about most of these names as well, and it could very well be one of them. But if we’re going to see an existing Marvel Universe character behind the mask of the new Thor, I would really, really like it to be Susan Storm.
We know the Fantastic Four is taking a back seat in the Marvel U right now, due in no small part to the whole movie rights fiasco. The Fantastic Four series is coming to an end, although it’s been said that Sue, Johnny, Reed and Ben will still be showing up in our favorite monthly comics, just not as the Fantastic Four.
With all Sue has been through recently, and with what she means to the Marvel Universe, I think Sue would make a great candidate for the new Thor. In my mind, Sue is definitely the First Lady of Marvel. What she and the Fantastic Four as a family mean to the Marvel universe cannot be overstated, even though Marvel is sadly minimizing the characters right now due to business mistakes of the past.
