When people think classic British comics, the first thought is 'Judge Dredd' and with good reason. But there is another incredible English comic that also takes place in a future no one wants to lie in. We are talking 'Rogue Trooper'!
Created by writer Gerry Finely Day and artist Dave Gibbons, Rogue Trooper is the story of a genetic infantryman created to fight in the polluted, poisonous atmosphere of Nu Earth. His companions are the bio chips taken from other fallen Troopers who now live in his helmet, back pack and rifle.
This battle ravaged world Rogue Trooper lives in are an amalgam of World War two and the American Civil War, complete with a battle of the North and South as well as Nazi inspired uniforms.
Making its debut in the pages of the legendary '2000 AD', 'Rogue Trooper' had his own series from Quality Comics which lasted 49 incredible issues. 'Rogue Trooper' also stared in his own video game.
