Man, it's a great time to be a Marvel fan. As if the return of Spider-Man 2099 wasn't enough to make me the happy, news out of Marvel this past week sealed the deal.
Dan Abnett, one of the writers that helped resurrect the Marvel cosmic universe back in 2006, is writing a new cosmic series this fall called Guardians 3000. This series will feature the original Guardians of the Galaxy--Vance Astro, Yondu, Starhawk, Martinex and Charlie-27--and will be taking place in the 30th century.
CBR has a great interview with Abnett about what people can expect from the series. Abnett and Lanning did such an amazing job with Marvel's cosmic characters in the Annihilation events and the series that spun out of them (DnA originally wrote the Nova series before taking over the Annihilation events with Conquest). I never read the old Guardians of the Galaxy series (although I recently picked up a bunch of back issues at a con), so I'm really looking forward to getting to know these characters. I have complete faith in Abnett, and I cannot wait for October.
Are you psyched for the new Guardians 3000 series?
