What do you think aboout what DiDio had to say?
This past weekend at Baltimore Comic-Con, Dan DiDio took a moment before the DC Nation panel to address the recent controversy surrounding the creative team leaving Batwoman. You can watch the video of what he had to say below. From what DiDio saying, the issue isn't necessarily about gay marriage, but the idea that superheroes shouldn't have happy personal lives to begin with. You could certainly make the case DC is anti-marriage when it comes to heroes in general in the New 52, as evidenced by Superman and Lois, Barry and Iris, and even Aquaman and Mera--none of them are married in the New 52.

His comment about what they did with Batwoman being Gay as being "unpresident" is wrong. Marvel had a gay character years before and it was Northstar.

Works for me. I don't agree with the mandate that they can't have happy personal lives (would be nice to have a balance of some happy some not happy to make it interesting) But if this is the direction they want to go then go! Have fun! Make the best comic you can within your guidelines.

Problem is, DC comics of late, are not the best they can be. I don't read any DC anymore. I'm sure there are good ones, but I don't have the time, money, or faith in the company to justify reading them. I'll just listen to what happens via the SI ear candy.
