If you were able to find a copy of 'Green Arrow # 17' consider yourself lucky! Because Green Arrow has been a bit off since the relaunch, most fans (including the diehards) were walking away in droves. Following three different writers and as many artists, the store shelves were full of Green Arrow back issues causing many stores to cut back on their orders.
So DC found itself with a hot TV series on their hand, (Arrow on the CW) and a comic book that fans of the show probably wouldn't recognize and enjoy.
So enter writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino who have been given the task to make Green Arrow good! Did they succeed? You can listen for my review in the next episode of Secret Identity... but if you must know now, the book was incredible!
Congrats to DC for getting a creative team on a book that seems to fit. Lemire can write anything and make it interesting and Sorrentino's art isn't the style I was hoping for, but it fits perfectly to the mood and desperation of the story.
