As I was skimming through Tom Atkins film career on Wikipedia the other day (yes, I actually was), I noticed that he appeared in a 2012 documentary about the making of Halloween III: Season of the Witch. That movie is one of the creepiest films to come out of the 80s, and often gets overlooked because it didn't star Michael Myers. It also happens to contain a few of the most disturbing sequences ever put to film, and a song that will never leave your head once you hear it.
As it turns out, the documentary is part of a collector's edition DVD that will be put out this September by the folks at Shout! Factory, who are well known for their 80s cartoon collections. Part of the new "Scream Factory" line, the new edition of Halloween III features audio commentaries with the amazing Tom Atkins and director Tommy Lee Wallace, a revisiting of old shooting locations, theatrical trailers and more. The new edition also features brand new artwork, which as you can see from the picture to the right is absolutely great.
You can preorder the collector's edition right now on www.shoutfactorystore.com and they'll throw in a poster of the new cover art for free.
And for those of you who've never seen this gem, take a look at the trailer below.
