A few years ago at a New York Comic Con I met a real cool guy named Brendan Deneen who during an interview we did, we discovered not only a comic book connection but because of where he grew up in Connecticut he knew several of the same people I did. But the world got even smaller when he knew a friend of Brian's. As the head of Ardden Entertainment Brendan was the face and voice of the company. Now Brendan is the voice of Scout Comics....
I recently caught up with him online and he gave SI this update:
"A little over a year ago, Ardden Entertainment (Flash Gordon, Casper the Friendly Ghost, etc) transformed into Scout Comics, and we now focus only on creator-owned characters (sorry Flash and Casper).
We had an incredible first year, particularly with HENCHGIRL (in development as a TV series) and ONCE OUR LAND (in development as an animated feature film). And we are launching 15(!) new comics in 2017.
Thanks and I hope you are doing GREAT!"
We wish Brendan and Scout comics, and we look forwrad to checking out all those new books. To find out more about what they're up to, go to www.scoutcomics.com.
