Since my first concert in 1982 (Electric Light Orchestra) I have gone to hundreds of concerts! From the mellow sounds of Barry Manilow to the crunching assault of Megadeth, I have always loved live music. But the one performer I have seen more times in concert is gangsta folkster, John Wesley Harding... 'Wes' to his friends.
To describe his music isn't simple! Wes embodies the storytelling and humor of Ray Davies (the Kinks) and a songwriting style much like Bob Dylan and Pete Townshend (The Who). Throw in a unique and emotional voice and you have the man I've seen seven times perform on stage.
It was recently announced that John Wesley Harding will be performing a free show this month...
Called 'An Evening with John Wesley Harding / Wesley Stace', the night will feature Wes performing, discussing song writing and his books. He has also written three novels.
