Press Release

Today, Joe Mulvey, writer/artist of SCAM, launched a Kickstarter campaign to print copies of the SCAM ULTIMATE COLLECTION.

For the first time ever, Mulvey and publisher ComixTribe will collect the entire sold-out SCAM mini-series into a deluxe over-sized hardcover volume, featuring the never-before-released SCAMthology - fifteen brand new SCAMstories written and drawn by a handpicked crew of outstanding comic creators.

The SCAM Ultimate Collection will be an 256-page over-sized hardcover that includes SCAM, Mulvey's recently completed super-powered conman mini-series, as well as the SCAMthology, which features more than 100-pages of unpublished stories by creators including Joe Eisma (Morning Glories), Nick Pitarra (The Manhattan Projects), CP "Talent" Wilson III (The Stuff of Legend, Wraith), Paul Allor (GI Joe, Strange Nation), and many more.

"The SCAM Ultimate Collection is the biggest book, and the biggest project ComixTribe has ever put together," said publisher Tyler James. "The good news is, the hard part is over. The SCAM mini-series and SCAMthology are complete. All the plans are in place. But like any big heist, we need some help bankrolling the job...which is why we're taking this product to Kickstarter."

SCAM #1 first made waves in January 2012, when its first print run of just 777 copies, made available in only 21 comic book stores, sold-out. This initial DIY success helped ComixTribe achieve a Diamond distribution deal, letting us roll out the SCAM series to hundreds of other retailers around the world. Between August 2012 and December 2013, the rest of the SCAM mini-series was released in serial format, with several issues selling out at the distributor level.

"In the pages of SCAM, I created a vast universe of colorful cons and crooks, with limitless storytelling potential," said Mulvey. "For the Ultimate Collection, I put together the right crew for the job, and assembled some of the most talented writers and artists making waves in creator-owned comics today, and asked them to play in the SCAM sandbox. The result is SCAMthology, and its tremendous."

That's nice. Hardcovers are cool. Add a sketch and it's like catnip to me!
