After almost a year of writing, Friday afternoon I finished my book! The adventure that started as part of last years 'Nanowrimo' writing contest finally ended last week; 100 pages and 50,000 words later... i had me an actual book.
'POW-BAM-SELL' is a book designed to help comic creators with a very neglected part of the comic creating process... how to sell and make a big splash with fans. In the book I go over everything creators need to know about marketing their books, From creating an internet buzz to how to set up your table and then be ready to do interviews. Stuff I think the average creator doesn't think about.
The bulk of the writing was done in November of last year. In the month I was able to get a very detailed first draft. I didn't return to wor on it until late January of 2012 and what i discovered was ...it didn't suck! Staying away was the best thing i could have done.
For the rest of the time i would work on it about every other month, until August. There as I recovered from broken ribs I planned out how the last few chapters would be. Once I was able to sit up and type, I finished it off.
Now comes the hard part! I now have a few people (including my wife Amy) helping me with the edits, i have found a printer and i am finalizing the cover art, based on the picture above.
I want to thank all my creator friends who helped me with great advice and help and of course Brian who was probably my biggest supporter and sounding board.
