Jennifer Blood: ‘A Woman’s Work Is Never Done’ (Dynamite) – This book collects the first six issues of this incredible series by Garth Ennis and Adriano Batista. A housewife that at night is a vigilante, this book is violent and not for the young'uns, but it is a compelling and very enjoyable collection. It was so good I read it in one sitting!
5 out of 5 do you know where your wife is at night?
Archie # 630 – Leave it to Archie Comics to do what Marvel, Image and many other companies couldn’t do… make a KISS comic that I really enjoyed! With the dream team of Alex Segura, Rich Parent and Rich Kozlowski, this was four issues of pure fun with KISS just being KISS.
5 out of 5 gods of thunder!
Saucer Country # 1 (Vertigo) – is it a political thriller? Is it the story of a woman beating the odds and running for president? Is it about alien abductions? Yes, yes and yes. Written by Paul Cornell and drawn by Ryan Kelly, this book really has a weird vibe about it.. weird meaning awesome!
5 out of 5 crazy aliens
Action Comics # 7 (DC) – Even the incredible pencils of Rags Morales can’t keep me from scratching my head and saying ‘what is Grant Morrison doing?’ Sorry folks, I’m jumping off now! 1 out of 5 save my money!
Avengers Assemble # 1 (Marvel) – Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley reunite on this book that features the heroes that’ll be featured in the upcoming Avengers film. Great place to start if you don’t read any of the Avengers titles. 4 out of 5 flirty moments!
Artifacts # 15 (Top Cow / Image) – If you thought the Top Cow Universe was a tough place to get into, think again! Thanks to Ron Marz and Stjepan Sejic, you get to jump into a newly created world… just in time to watch it unravel! Easily one of my ‘must read’ comics each month. 4.5 out of 5 bad priests!
