Quietly, ‘Witchblade’ has made it to issue #150 and is all set on a new era with a new creative team!
Sadly and without a lot of media fanfare, writer Tim Seeley and artist Diego Bernard have brought Sara Pezzini back and well, really screwed her up! Starting her new life as a private detective in Chicago, we find Sara in jail and what follows is a downward spiral of her personal and private life. This all culminates with a fight that starts in the ladies room of a bar and ends with Sara in trouble for murder! Good stuff!
We all know that Tim Seeley has an amazing way of writing interesting female characters and his take on Sara is very interesting. It will be a lot of fun to watch his rebuilding of her as well as her relationship with the ‘witchblade’.
Like his writing partner, artist Diego Bernard has worked with an incredible lady before, Red Sonja! His visuals bring me back to the days of Randy Green’s run, but a little bit darker. Diego’s art is a perfect compliment to Tim’s story.
I’m real excited about this new beginning! It’s a great jumping on point and if you haven’t been reading ‘Witchblde’ in a long time, c’mon back! This looks like it’s going to be a fun ride. Well, fun for the readers, not so sure about Sara!
