Yesterday morning as I snuck downstairs to lay on the couch and read comics while my wife and kids slept, I came to a realization. My Saturday morning routine harkens back to my days as a kid, when I’d wake up at 6am to start watching cartoons for the next six hours.
Nowadays, Saturday mornings are the days that I catch up on my comic reading. I grab a stack of books and silently creep downstairs, hoping to get in at least an hour of reading before the family gets up.
I also find that I keep to a theme for each of these reading sessions. For example, yesterday it was a stack of the new Marvel Now books. The week before it was horror books. Sometimes it’s all Marvel or DC, or that stack of GI Joe books I’ve been letting pile up.
Anyway, I just thought it was interesting that this routine has just kind of organically come to be.
