The basic gameplay involves tapping the screen in time with musical beats as your cursor travels along a line that is constantly switching directions. The line that is drawn over the course of a song resembles the shape of a roller coaster (hence the name). The music you tap along to is a wonderful mix of videogame themes and Japanese pop music, and the visual design seems inspired by everything from Tempest to Rez. Most of the songs are under two minutes long, making this a perfect game to play in bite-size chunks.
Don’t be surprised if you get sucked in like I did though and lose an hour or two to this game. It’s simple, fun and completely worth the $2.99 it’s currently going for on iTunes.
