It may not be just like 1977 - 78, but STAR WARS Mania has taken over the world of geekdom as we await THE FORCE AWAKENS! But let's take a look back to a time when we all wanted anything STAR WARS... figures, books, magazines, comics and of course the amazing Topps STAR WARS card sets.
Like most of my friends, i was collecting STAR WARS cards; blue, red, yellow, green and orange! For 15 cents a pack we would enter the world of Luke, Han, Leia and Stormtroopers in trading cards. Since you could only see the movie in the theatres (the world of pre-vcr's), we would study every picture on the front, read the facts on the back, chew the gum and then stick the stickers everywhere.
Thanks to Abrams ComicArts books, the world of Star Wars cards are made available... all of 'em for about $20.00.
Like they did for WACKY PACKAGES, STAR TREK and MARS ATTACKS, Abrams puts together an amazing book that contains in full color, all the pictures and stories of our beloved franchise. The cover of the book feels like a wax wrapper and the book contains bonus cards.
Clocking in at over 535 pages this incredible book not only brings back the amazing cards BUT also tells the stories behind the series by Topps guru, Gary Gerani. This book, like all their other card collection books, are an incredible value and tons of reading pleasure.
