Brian and I would like to thank everyone at TerrifiCon 2016 for not only what they did for us, but what they provided for those in attendance. From our booth we could see perfectly everyone there coming and going and it seemed that everyone had a great time!
First off, the Mohegan Sun is a great place to do a show; free parking, carpeted floors and a very aesthetically pleasing venue.
The guest list ranged from some established comic creators like Dan Slott and Roger Stern to some up and comers like Kristen Gudsnuk who you will hear more of very soon!
Celebs in attendance featured one time guest and incredibly nice guy John Wesley Shipp (The Flash) and soon to be guest Sam Jones (Flash Gordon). The cool thing I heard from everyone was how all the guests were so accommodating and kind to fans which shows how important it is to get not only 'big names' but awesome people.
As you walked around the main hall before entering the dealer room / artist alley, you may have been greeted by an impressive and HUGE Hulk Buster, complete with sounds and screaming children who were a little put off by this 10 foot monster. Next to brian and I was my friend Tim Wylie and his amazing Spider-Buggy that was one of the most popular stops at the show. What was even cooler was Tim didn't charge a thing for fans to sit in it and have pix taken. What was the coolest was Spider author Dan Slott getting some time in there!
The panels this year were incredibly organised and a lot of fun, especially the ones that Brian and I were a part of. We were able to celebrate the life's of Spider-man, The Flash, Doctor Who and Captain America as well as Women In Comics and one of our favorite subjects... Podcasting!!!
One of the coolest things about this show is having the Boy Scouts bring you to all the panels. Fifteen minutes before your scheduled events, a scout will get you and bring you to the room and then keep you on time as well! How cool was that?
Overall and once again, one of the most enjoyable shows of the con season. Thank you to Mitch Hallock and all involved for making such a great weekend. See y'all in 2017!
