A few weeks ago the interweb was abuzz with a report that DC writers were told to finish up their current arcs. Of course this bought out all the speculation of a major event like... well what I thought, the return of the original DCU. As I put a story together about it DC announced that this event would be called CONVERGENCE and this would be a huge event; covering two months, 40 two issue series, a nine issue main series and probably more that I'm missing.
The plot is kinda simple... hundreds of heroes and villains from all over DC's vast history will be converging on one place for one crazy adventure! Here stories and characters that may be long since forgotten will return like maybe Donna Troy, Blue Beetle and the real JSA!
If you have been reading FUTURE'S END and EARTH TWO: WORLD'S END then this is an event that will continue that story.
Interesting that the first issue debuts on April 1st.
And not to be outdone is Marvel's SECRET WARS that will be happening sometime next year. This major event will have (we are told) major ramifications to the Marvel Universe and much like DC's event, will have a major impact on the company following the story.
So where am I for all this? What is my thinking? I'm really not thinking too much about the future or ramifications of the lines, but what I am looking forward to is some incredible stories that will do what they are meant to do... entertain!
