A few weeks ago Marvel made a strange yet awesome decision to bring back one of my favorite characters of all time... DEVIL DINOSAUR in a book title CALLED MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR!
Making his debut in August of 1978. Devil Dinosaur is a big red Tyrannosaurus who lives on Dinosaur World, a parallel universe that exists in the Marvel Universe. His origin is a silly one.... from the amazing mind of Jack Kirby!
As part of a ritual, the baby Devil Dinosaur was nearly burned to death by a tribe of 'Killer-Folk' who were the bad guys on the planet. As he lay smouldering in flame a young humanoid named Moon Boy saved the young dinosaur from death. Being exposed to the fire activated a mutation and turned his green skin to a flaming red color.
When he got older he and Moon Boy would battle extraterrestrials and briefly be sent to Earth 616 where he would fight Godzilla when Marvel had the rights. But one of my favorite moments didn't even feature Devil Dinosaur. In THE THING # 31 where ben Grimm travels to an island in the Pacific where they are filming DEVIL DINOSAUR: THE MOVIE!

So here we are with MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR # 1, a book written by Amy Reeder and Brandon Montclare with artist Natacha Bustos and let me tell you... holy cow! A girl, her dinosaur...and trouble! it is an all ages book that has animated series all over it!
