A book that came out a few weeks ago finally saw its way to the top of my reading pile, DC's look at the classic Wonder Woman TV series called WONDER WOMAN '77 SPECIAL. First of all... I almost didn't pick this book up because of its hefty price tag ($7.99) but after a few pages I soon realized how glad I was to pick up this book!
Following in the footsteps of the mega successful BATMAN '66, this book follows the feel, look and spirit of the TV series that starred the lovely and talented Lynda Carter.
The book contains two full length amazing stories by writer Mark Andreyko who was the scribe of the incredibly underrated MANHUNTER series a few years back. Joining him are artist Greg Johnson, Jason Badower, Richard Ortiz and colorist Romulo Fajardo Jr. But the standout work is delivered by Matt Haley who does an incredible job on the pages he is given. But this book looks as great as it reads.
Released with two covers, the main by Nicola Scott and a variant cover by Wonder Woman expert (and one of the best artist in the biz), Phil Jimenez.
If you see this book still on the shelf...PICK IT UP and see what Wonder Woman at her best looks like.
