Today I make a return
to my hometown of
Broad Brook, CT. Here I
will be doing a book
signing at a real cool
store called Book Club.
Why this is cool...
Book Club is an incredible store full of great books at real good prices. And who doesn't need a cool book store?
Book Club is in the spot I bought most of my comic books as a young kid when it used to be the location of Pigeon's Pharmacy!
I have only been back to Broad Brook a few times since I left around 1988 and to be doing a book signing across from the pond I spent so many frozen hours playing hockey is kinda surreal!
So please come on out and say hi and if you feel so led to, buy a book! And it doesn't even have to be one of mine...
Book Club is located at
100 Main Street
Broad Brook, CT 06016
The event will be from 4 to 7 PM
It is hard to believe we are now mere days from ConnectiCon 2014 and the excitement is mounting! If you are on the Facebook page you will see that everyone is getting excited, posting their plans and pictures of what they will be wearing. But ConnectiCon isn't just about costumes and cosplay... it's so much more. Expect everything!
Jam packed in the four days you'll be able to experience almost 700 different events including panels, meet and greets, gaming exhibitions and so much more.
As we get closer to the event you will need to check the website HOURLY for all the guests that will be announced and the announcement of even more events!
To see the site go to www.connecticon.org and friend them on Facebook at
Tomorrow night please join me at Most Excellent Collectibles in Enfield, CT for the release of my latest (and greatest) book, 'The Unofficial Doctor Who Companion'!
The event will be held Friday night from 4 PM to 8 PM where I will have the book for sale (for a mere $20.00) and we can hang out and chat about Doctor Who, comic books and maybe world current events that are about Doctor Who and comic books.
For more information you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Please come by and help me celebrate this real cool thing!
Last September this long journey for me first began! Following a Doctor Who panel at Boston Comic Con 2014 I felt the itch to write an easy to read (and understand) to the incredible world of Doctor Who!
I didn't realize how hard this would be... encapsulate over 50 years of ever changing continuity in a read that will make new 'Whovians' understand all the Doctor, what made them who they were and their relationship to all the other Doctors.
As I started to write, research and watch a lot of TV, the book began to flow a little bit. As i began to see how i wanted it to go I had an idea... have comic book artist friends of mine supply the art. As pictures began to come in, it became a motivator for me. The art is incredible.
With the project beginning to take shape, I started to get excited about this book. But as I got excited I began to get a little panicky! Would anyone want this? who will buy it?
Then came the doubt! "Who am I to write this?", "What makes me qualified?" and "I'm not even a writer!" But I persevered, write three hours a day for almost five months and well... here we are.
Last September I was telling everyone my target date to be finished and have copies of the book was June 16th, 2014 and here we are today... FIVE boxes of books arriving today.
WOW!!! Let the fun begin.

As the artist of DC's New 52 breakout hit Wonder Woman series, Cliff Chiang's star has never shone brighter. His bold, graphic style has a classic feel with a modern sensibility, and it's no wonder he's become one of the industry's top illustrators. Now comics journalist Chris Arrant and editor Eric Nolen-Weathington reveal just how Chiang went from promising assistant editor to in-demand freelance artist in Modern Masters: Cliff Chiang.
Upon first seeing Chiang's work, Eisner Award-winning comics creator Paul Pope felt "the work was distinct and had an aura of European cartooning, clean-lined and crisp, yet still playing within the arena of American contemporary comics. The brush was his evident weapon of choice, the work breathed. One could see the thumbprint of Vittorio Giardino, a little Crepax, Steranko, and even Javier Pulido in Cliff’s work. Some Mazzucchelli. There was a grace and urgency coming to the front, his stuff stood out, and happily it still does." Pope was so impressed with Chiang's comics that he penned the introduction to the new Modern Masters book.
Modern Masters: Cliff Chiang features a career-spanning interview and loads of both iconic and rarely seen artwork from Cliff's personal files. In addition to talking about his celebrated runs on Wonder Woman, Green Arrow/Black Canary, and Detective Comics, Cliff also pulls back the curtain on never-before-seen projects including a Aquamangraphic novel and a pulp Batman series. There's also an in-depth look into the artist's work process, and an extensive gallery of commissioned pieces, many in full-color.
"I'm fascinated by the different creative and professional paths an artist can take, and as an avid fan of the Modern Masters series it's really an honor to be included," Chiang said. "With hours of in-depth interviews exploring the evolution of my career and artistic process and many pieces of unseen and unpublished art, it's my hope this volume is as interesting to read as it was to put together."
Modern Masters: Cliff Chiang will arrive in comic book stores and booksellers on February 5, 2014, and is available for pre-order now at www.twomorrows.com. The 120-page trade paperback retails for $15.95, and a digital edition is also available from the publisher's website and App Store app.
You can check out a free preview by clicking here.
The print edition can be ordered at any comic book shop using Diamond Comic Distributors Order Code: OCT131328 and through major booksellers and Amazon.com with ISBN-13: 978-1-60549-050-2
