Press Release

Image Comics is pleased to present the never-before-reprinted parody of the company’s formation—SPLITTING IMAGE.

This 80-page title by Don Simpson with with colors by Hilary Jenkins, skewers the Image Comics company formation and pokes fun at the artists who founded it.

"We thought the occasion of our 25th Anniversary was as good a time as any to revisit our past with tongue planted firmly in cheek and sense of humor in tact!” said co-founder and Image Comics partner and Vice-President Jim Valentino. “A piece of history at your fingertips (now go wash your hands!)”

SPLITTING IMAGE will also feature tons of special bonus content that fans won’t want to miss out on, including: the normalman-MEGATON MAN SPECIAL by Simpson, co-founder and Image Comics partner and Vice-President Jim Valentino, Larry Marder, and Bob Burden.

SPLITTING IMAGE (Diamond Code FEB170579) will hit stores on Wednesday, April 26th. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, March 27th

TV and Comics... A Beautiful Thing

1/24/2017

This week most of our favorite comic book based shows return and it makes me think... what an amazing time we live in.  When I was a kid we had a few superhero based cartoons, The Hulk and a few made for TV crappy things like CAPTAIN AMERICA and LEGENDS OF THE SUPER HEROES!

This week we had the return of SUPERGIRL and tonight the FLASH and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW make their return. So here is where I am with all the shows based on comic books...

GOTHAM - I came back expecting to give up really quickly but this season and the last half of last season were quite good.

SUPERGIRL - Lose the Jimmy Olsen/Guardian story line and this show will be the best one on the telly.

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW - Last season was a much better one than the first and it saved it for me.

ARROW - Don't watch but this season I will.

RIVERDALE - Starts this week and certainly looks interesting; teen angst wrapped in a murder mystery... plus Jughead!

Press Release

Writer Tini Howard and artist Ryan Cady team up for the all-new series MAGDALENA, set to launch from Image/Top Cow this March.

MAGDALENA follows “The Magdalena” a powerful individual who has always defended the world from demonic evil, empowered by the blood of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene in her veins. But when a brush with death leaves her gravely wounded, Patience decides to seek out the next in the bloodline and train her replacement. The replacement, meanwhile, is having enough trouble with finding her purpose even without the whole holy-warrior gig.

Howard and Cady put a fresh, contemporary spin on the popular Top Cow universe superheroine—known for her early appearances in THE DARKNESS and WITCHBLADE series—and introduce an adventure for new readers to enjoy.

MAGDALENA #1 (Diamond code: JAN170667) hits comic book stores Wednesday, March 22nd. Final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, February 27th

There are certain creators that no matter what they do.. I will get it! One of those is writer / artist Jeff Lemire. His latest outing is from Image Comics and is called ROYAL CITY.

Patrick Pike is a writer whose best days are behind him. He returns to his old hometown to discover the town may not be the same, but the drama remains.

Jeff Lemire writes best when the location is a small town. His ESSEX COUNTY and SUPERBOY capture small town living with adventures and amazing characters.

Press Release

Dark Horse and 20th Century Fox are excited to wish Buffy a very happy birthday! It’s been twenty years since the hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer first premiered on Fox, and DarkHorse Comics is celebrating with the release of the third installment of Buffy: The High School Years, featuring executive producer Joss Whedon, author Kel McDonald (Misfits of Avalon), and artist Yishan Li (Buffy: The High School Years—Freaks and Geeks) in Buffy: The High School Years—Parental Parasite.

In Parental Parasite, Buffy struggles to deal with her mother Joyce’s sudden interest in spending quality time with her. Balancing this new development with her schoolwork, her friends, and her regular vampire-slaying duties proves to be a challenge. However, when Joyce becomes hypnotized by a childlike demon that craves motherly care, Buffy experiences a new kind of sibling rivalry—except in Buffy’s case, her “sibling” is actually a monster!

The Tour To End All Tours!!!!

you know I love the band Black Sabbath!  You should by now also know that I love McDonalds; the food and the amazing characters that were such a part of my life.  Well, combine the two and you get the over the top, funny and very talented Mac Sabbath!

Mac Sabbath may seem like a novelty to some but they are an incredibly tight band who have changed the lyrics to classic Black Sabbath songs to reflect the many wonderful products the McDonalds provides. They are amazing!!!!

Opening the show is another pretty amazing band, Metalachi, a group that performs metal classics but mariachi style. You have never heard 'Crazy Train' or 'Symphony of Destruction' until you have heard it with trumpets and BIG acoustic guitars.

To find out where these bands will be playing (hopefully near YOU) go to www.officialmacsabbath.com and www.metalachi.com.

Check out their videos on YouTube and get ready for a crazy experience!!!
