Fright Night is easily one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Not only did it have a great mix of scares and laughs, but the practical effects by Richard Edlund, Steve Johnson and crew. But Fright Night would not have been nearly as good without a great performance by Chris Sarandon as the villainous vampire Jerry Dandridge. He was fantastic.
Sarandon was also in another iconic '80s horror flick, and one that spawned an entire franchise--Child's Play. He got to be a good guy in that one, playing the role of Detective Mike Norris, the nemesis of Charles Lee Ray (Chucky).
This weekend, Chris will be at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA for Rock and Shock, along with a slew of other celebrities and musical acts. You can see the full lineup at rockandshock.com.
