I have a few real passions in my life that define me; comic books, good sci-fi, sports and of course... music! Other than comic books and the Bible, my reading consists mostly of music biographies.
Since my taste in music is not always in the mainstream, I have not always found books about the bands I wanna read about until I discovered Canadian writer Martin Popoff!
Martin has written some of the best music biographies on bands like UFO, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, RUSH and Black Sabbath! Each book follows the history of the band chronologically (album to album) and the pages jump alive with amazing photos and memorabilia. The books also feature some incredible insight from the subjects themselves. Not everyone can write about all the lineup changes in Rainbow and Black Sabbath and somehow keep it accurate and entertaining, but Martin does it.
Recently Martin has released three books to much critical acclaim...

For me personally, Martin is my favorite writer and does an incredible job telling the stories behind my favorite bands with a voice and style that resonates with me. In fact, I thanked him in my first book for inspiring me to write!
