Matt's classmate Teresa M. Pelham recently wrote a children's book called 'Roxy's Forever Home'. The book is the story of a "little brown Tennessee dog whose life was saved by Southern dog rescuers, a kind veterinarian, a welcoming foster family and the family that ultimately brought her to her forever home."
'Roxy's Forever Home' is drawn by artist Dina Marie Pratt who is not only a pet portrait artist, but like Teresa is an animal lover. Together Teresa and Dina have created a beautiful all ages book that will entertain and touch anyone who reads it.
"I'm so proud of Teresa," said Matman. "She has taken her love of animals, her passion to write and the desire to see all dogs have good homes into a great project to entertain and educate."
A large part of the proceeds from the sale of the book goes directly to dog rescue groups who save thousands of dogs every year with limited funds.
"Please consider buying a book or inviting Roxy and the author to come to your school to spread the word about adopting homeless dogs. Each visit includes a slideshow with photos from a visit to Roxy’s roots in Tennessee and an opportunity for student participation in one of Roxy’s special tricks."
