A few weeks back Archie Comics announced the 'Death of Archie' was coming to newsstands and comic racks in July. But there are some who don't understand how this is going to happen... so let me explain the best I can.
Currently Archie has three very distinct lines running...
Archie 'Proper' - This is where Archie and the gang are eternally young and their only concerns are where they are going to hang out and who will be dating who?
Archie 'Afterlife' - Here Archie and the gang are either zombies or dinner. An incredibly emotional world where everything has gone wrong and we get to watch it all unfold.
'Life with Archie' - Within the magazine pages is two possible futures where Archie's life plays out if he married Betty or Veronica. Here is where Archie will sadly meet his demise, in # 36 and then in the next and final issue of the series, we will see how the gang has survived without Archie..
So sure, Archie is going to die... but don't worry because he'll be alive somewhere else, but not sure how long in 'Afterlife'!
