As we finished our Sunday 'Doctor Who In Comics' panel, we knew the announcement of who would be replacing Matt Smith as the new Doctor.
And the new Doctor is... Peter Capaldi!
Peter is not a stranger to the 'Whoverse' having played in an episode (Fires Of Pompeii) and played in the incredibly emotional Torchwood epic, 'Children Of Earth'!
Peter was announced as the new Doctor during a "Doctor Who" special on BBC America and BBC One on Sunday.
"Being asked to play the Doctor is an amazing privilege," Capaldi said. "Like the Doctor himself I find myself in a state of utter terror and delight."
“It's an incendiary combination: one of the most talented actors of his generation is about to play the best part on television," Moffat said. "Peter Capaldi is in the TARDIS!"
The first thing I (and probably everyone else) notice is his age. He is much older than the previous four Doctors and I feel is a bold move to not have a young, good looking Doctor to capitalize on the incredibly large young girl fandom. But as we said time and time again... in Moffat we trust!
